Multiplexed Diagnostics

The advantage of multiplexing is straightforward: more data points and more information per assay. At the simplest level, this enables separate tests to be combined, saving time and reagents, which provides a significant cost benefit. At the more complex level, this enables the analysis of patterns of results.

The key to the success of multiplexing is miniaturization. By miniaturizing and combining, more tests can be handled in the same amount of time and space, while using less reagents per test.

Sensovation’s Reader technology is designed for low density planar arrays, used for up to approximately a few hundred multiplexed measurements. Typical arrays might contain somewhere from 9 to 100 spots, but might vary significantly depending on the specific application. These arrays might be printed on glass slides, on special biochips or on the bottom of the wells of SBS-microplates. Especially the latter format is ideal for multiplexing ELISA assays because all the existing Plate Liquid Handling equipment can be used.
